Brentwood, TN – Currey Ingram Academy, one of the premier boarding schools in the South, is pleased to announce the appointment of Jenna Barbary-Glovsky as the new Director of its Residential Life program.
Mrs. Barbary-Glovsky moved to campus with her husband and daughter at the end of June from upstate New York, where she previously served as the Dean of Students at The Darrow School. In her role, she oversaw the boarding and residential life program, health and wellness, student leadership, diversity programming, and student activities. Originally from New Hampshire, Mrs. Barbary-Glovsky graduated from Williams College with a degree in Biology, and Skidmore College with a master’s degree in Liberal Studies.
“This position is so exciting to me because of its immense potential — the opportunity to shape a Residential Life program that is in its early stages, and really set the foundation for an incredible experience for all of the boarding students,” said Mrs. Barbary-Glovsky.
Currey Ingram Academy’s commitment to promoting strengths and supporting differences in students does not stop at the end of the school day. Now in its second year, the Brentwood private school’s Residential Life program is open to students in grades 9-12 and provides another transformative level of individualized intervention. “The first thing I noticed about the Currey Ingram community was how much care and support goes into every student’s experience, something that is only enhanced by the Residential Life program. I’m definitely a boarding school person – I love the idea that students are learning from us 24 hours a day, and some of the most impactful and important conversations that I’ve had with students are in the dorm, in those slightly more informal settings,” said Mrs. Barbary-Glovsky.
“I want to expand on the excellent work of the Residential Life staff, and build a dynamic, exciting program for our boarding students. Ultimately, I want to build a program that students are proud to be a part of. I’m excited to build traditions within the Residential Life program, things that students love and get to look forward to year after year,” she added.
